Manual Therapy... hands-on physical therapy
Manual physical therapy is a hands-on approach for fascia, nerves and joints. It includes specific techniques such as stretching, therapeutic massage, joint mobilization, visceral release, myofascial release, and craniosacral therapy. The goal of manual physical therapy is to reduce pain and restore movement and health.
Exercise
Manual therapy is complimented by exercise and exercise instruction to facilitate the body’s natural healing processes, to enhance postural strength, power, endurance and a feeling of well being.

CranioSacral Therapy... a gentle healing practice
CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

About Susan
Susan Tiskus received her Masters degree in physical therapy in 1997 from the University of Rhode Island, following a BS in Secondary Education from Indiana University. In addition to her work at a local hospital, she is now offering physical therapy services to private clients at the salon.
Susan has developed expertise in manual therapy through years of post-graduate courses and is pleased to offer this service in the private, nurturing setting on the first floor of the Salon.
Susan has lived in Jamestown for 10 years and looks forward to becoming more involved in the community through this work.
